What to Know Before Buying a Honda CR-V
Honda dealers have figured out that CR-V buyers do their research, so the pricing games tend to be subtler. Instead of big ADM fees, they bundle accessories: floor mats, cargo trays, door edge guards, wheel locks. These show up pre-installed on lot inventory, priced at $800 to $1,600 combined. You didn't ask for them, you can't remove them, and the dealer paid a fraction of what they're charging.
The CR-V Hybrid adds about $3,900 to the base price but delivers real-world fuel economy that makes it worth the math for most buyers who put 12,000 or more miles a year on a vehicle. Where dealers get you is the Touring trim, the top hybrid spec, where sticker climbs to $41,500 and dealers know there's a buyer for it. Negotiate hard or shop a wider radius.
Honda Care is the extended warranty product dealers push at closing. The pricing varies by dealer and the markup varies even more. I've seen the same plan quoted at $1,100 at one dealer and $2,400 at another. It's fully negotiable. Also worth knowing: you can purchase Honda Care at any point before your factory warranty expires, so there's no real pressure to decide in the finance office.
